+ Today in our O Antiphons we celebrate the fact that we
have a true Leader of the House of Israel, Adonai, and of the spiritual
descendants of that house, which by God’s design include us, the Gentiles.
The
Israelites specifically needed rescuing from their slavery to the
Roman Empire, but this was also symbolic of the rescuing that all humanity was
in need of due to the sin that all inherit, all carry about within them –
unless it is divinely removed.
Jesus
came to divinely remove this sin and to open life in all its
glorious aspects to all people – who, in faith would believe in Him – that’s
all it would take, BELIEF IN HIM!
O Adonai,
O Leader of the House of Israel who gave the Law of
Common Sense and human decency to Moses
on Sinai, give to us the law of LOVE and place it in our hearts and desires
so that we can carry out the loving designs that you inspire us with at every
moment of the day!
Justice
shall flourish in his time, and fullness of peace forever!
