+ Today is the feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord Jesus. It is
a spectacular feast which more than a lot of other scripture passages speaks to
us directly of Jesus, and us! What happened to Jesus on that mountain in the
presence of Peter, James and John, who represent not only their brother
apostles, but also us – is that Jesus, the Messiah, the Son of Man, is also now
quite definitively manifested as Son of God – living in a pure and wholly
authentic human way. And the glory of his Father and himself was revealed as
the really are: and what a glory it is:
Jesus radiated the shimmering,
glowing, effervescent, sweetly energized motion of LIGHT and LOVE and THE SOUND
OF MUSIC – there must have been music there because music is of the very fabric
of the uncreated and created universe: the Holy Spirit, in the Presence of the
Father as well produce the most astounding Love-Song ever imagined or
unimagined.
The reason why Jesus gave us
this peek behind the curtain – taking a Wizard of Oz theme, is to give us a
tiny beginning into “imagining the total heavenly reality”, which includes him
and us,to give us unbounded hope, a lively vibrant faith, and the daily impetus
to go out and experience the concrete reality of love by the way we greet,
treat and care for one another, one person at a time!
This also prepared Peter,
James and John for the upcoming Passion and Death of Jesus – they would have
this Heavenly Vision stored so they would have something to fall back on during
those dark, diabolic, dastardly days. Hmmm sounds familiar – the world is today
immersed in dark, diabolic and a dastardly environment spawned as a last resort
for the broken, beaten, but still whimpering fallen angel of light, whose daily
wattage is increasingly depleting – but JESUS THE LIGHT, LOVE and SOUND OF
MUSIC in the world is as strong and available to defeat this spent tyrant as
ever – and now he uses us, our personalities, minds, mouths, and mental
motivational methods to get out there and counter the destructive forces in the
world – because we can, and because we are accountable, and responsible to do
this as we must in addition to aligning ourselves to enter the pearlescent
gates – but also to help the world to ready itself for the new administration –
when Christ Jesus will assume his role as President and King of the Universe –
by delegating authority to those who used governmental administrative role as
they were meant to be used – as his Prime Ministers, Mayors and Class
Presidents!
And what’s more – we are
living in a spectacular age of medical wonder, as resuscitation after nearly
dying, brings back the “Reality of Oz” if you will, and the ability to see the
reality of the New Jerusalem, the new City of God, the new playgrounds for
mankind which includes all of the universes that God created for our personal
exploration and pleasure. Among the best
Near Death Experience literature that I have come across so far, that seems to
be pretty much in line with Scripture, is “Imagine Heaven” by John Burke, “90
Minutes in Heaven” by Don Piper.
The Joyful Servants of the
Cross, I believe has at last found the lynchpin to its organization and charismatic
identity on this Feast Day of the Transfiguration: “Focus Development”
Facilitating ANYONE AT ALL – everyone in particular – to Peak Behind the
Curtain – to IMAGING HEAVEN – as it has been revealed in Scripture as well as witnessed
and reported on by people who have “died and come back to life”- this
painfilled but potentially joy-filled, hope-filled, faith-filled, love-filled reality
for a time more – because their appointed time had not been reached yet.
With Brother Richard Paul
Andre Steinberg, JSC RN in a heavenly position to aid and direct with me,
co-founder and earthly contact person in our Religious Life Adventure – we have
much to offer – more than we already have – which has been astounding and remarkable
in itself - “as long as we can” and as
long as God would have us as ambassadors of ABOUNDING HOPE FOR ETERNAL LIFE in
a Kingdom unspeakable, and unimaginable with our limited human abilities.
God Bless!
